Response Options

Respondents are asked to rate on a 4-point scale ranging from rarely, not very often, fairly often, to very often how frequently they talked to the person about AIDS. They were then asked to indicate whether they had talked about each of 8 topics.

Internal Reliability

Chronbach alpha for the attitude towards AIDS scale was low (alpha =0.51). It was equal 0.78 on six items chosen after factor analysis, p 92.
